Despite being the heiress to a large fortune, Ms. Felicity Murdoch is far from the genteel, biddable lady most gentlemen wish to marry. Nonetheless, her father has demanded she find a titled husband and her best chance of that is at a summer house party hosted by her friend, Lady Caroline Herrington. Unfortunately, Felicity almost immediately finds herself in trouble.Lord Sullivan Darrow, Viscount Whitlock, finds himself in rather dire straits and his only recourse to save his crumbling estate and support his mother and sisters is to marry for money. But he has no clue how to woo an eligible lady. When he first spies Felicity across the room, he's instantly smitten, but when the odious Lord Cunningham seeks to split them up and seek Felicity's fortune for himself, trouble ensues and it's a question of whether or not the truth will out for these two lovers.
This was a quick, fun read, not to be taken too seriously, and I loved it. The characters were fabulously endearing and of course there was plenty of steam. I'm definitely looking forward to the next one in this lovely series.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
