Miss Josephine Hodges was sent to Miss Dobson's Finishing School, little more than a reformatory for ruined girls, after she made just one slip up. The awful school has been made bearable because of the friends she's made there, especially as she helps them investigate the theft of the Chandramukhi diamond. Jo's world is rocked again when her mother descents on the school to inform her that she is to be married to Lord Felix Harlow, the Earl of Lichfield and the very man she suspects of stealing the diamond.

After the revelation of his rather salacious proclivities in the bedroom, which led to a broken engagement, Felix is ready to put that lifestyle behind him. He can admit to himself that for some time now his heart hasn't been in the act of fulfilling the secret desires of high society ladies. No, he's ready to settle down and have a family of his own. He just can't believe his mother has taken it upon herself to find him a wife without consulting him first. Though when he meets Jo, he thinks it may not be so bad after all, even if it does seem as if she's already heard all about his tarnished reputation and wants to explore it just when he's ready to give it up.

All bets are off when Felix and Jo rapidly bond and decide to hunt the diamond thief as a team. While they fail to catch the thief, they discover a bond with someone who accepts them as they are.

This book was light and fun and very steamy but it also dealt with a great deal of vulnerability and lack of self esteem and was very well done. The diamond mystery continues and I'll look forward to the next book.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
