Rating: 4 stars

A very botched attempt to gain the services of renowned healer Rory Buchanon leads Evina MacLean to kidnap his brother, Conran Buchanon, mistaking him for Rory. After two separate blows to the head leave him naked and unconscious for the day and a half ride to Evina's home, Conran is unceremoniously roused and assumed to be Rory, at which point Evina begs him to health her dying father. Seeing how ill her father is, Conran decides to use the knowledge he has gained from helping his brother to aid Evina's father, since there is now no time to wait for Rory's arrival even if they sent for him, so Conran remains without revealing his true identity. When his brother's begin to descend on MacLean, it becomes apparent that Conran is not in fact Rory, but when someone attempts to kill Evina, it is Conran whose protective instincts are awakened and he begins to wonder if he might care for Evina. The wrong highlander may just be the perfect man for Evina and her clan.
